Copaiba Essential Oil Benefits And Recipes - A Less Toxic Life (2024)

An oil I just started learning about is Copaiba.

Have you tried it yet?

This oil is derived from the resin of the copaiba tree. That tree is found in South America and grows up to 100 ft tall!

(if you’re curious it is pronounced co-pie-EE-ba)

The oil is extracted from the tree similar to how you would derive syrup from a maple tree.

It has a very mild sweet aroma and mixes well with other essential oils.

It is heavier than most oils so a little goes a long way.

Disclaimer: This post is for informational purposes only. I’m not a medical professional so please do your own research.

Not all oil brands are created equal so do your due diligence when deciding what brand to use.

The essential oil brands I’m currently using are Simply Earth (use code STACYRUSSELLFREE for a $45 rebate when you order their subscription box)and Plant Therapy.

You can use Copaiba by itself or blend it with other oils.

Here are the main ways you can use it:

  1. Massage the oil directly into the affected area
  2. Diffuse in your favorite cool mist diffuser
  3. Add a few drops into your palm and inhale or put drops in an inhaler
  4. In a roller bottle with a carrier oil
  5. Apply to the soles of your feet
  6. In your bath

Note: I don’t recommend ingesting Copaiba Oil unless the bottle specifically states it can be used internally.

For example, some of the Doterra or Young Living oils have “food grade” on the label.

Start out just with Copaiba on its own and then branch out to blend it with other oils.

You’ll soon find some favorites and make up your own oil combinations.

Try some of these recipes I’ve collected and let me know which ones you like.

Get your oil supplies on Amazonor buy the Simply Earth Subscription box so you get the bonus box free oil accessories.

Note: If you use the code STACYRUSSELLFREE when you check out at Simply Earth you’ll get a $40 coupon to use on your 2nd order. Use it to buy Copaiba if it doesn’t come in the subscription.
