Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw men's tennis team split its Sunday matches between #9 Washington University in St. Louis and Transylvania University. In its morning match, the Tigers fell to the Bears 9-0 but held off the Pioneers in its afternoon match, beating Transylvania 6-3. DePauw improves to 3-4 for the season, while the Bears improve to 6-2 and the Pioneers drop to 4-6.
WashU took an early 3-0 lead following the doubles matches. Hudson Mosher and Wils Warren fell to the Bears' Pato Garcia Muriel and Scott Yamamoto 8-4 on court two. On court one, WashU's Jeremy Ouyang and Gaurav Singh defeated Finley Buelte and Ryan McCook 8-5. The Bears completed the doubles sweep after Eric Kuo and Stefan Hester beat Teagen Crow and Samuele Pia 8-5 on court three.
In singles play, the Bears extended their lead quickly. Jared Phillips defeated Pia 6-0, 6-0 on court one. On court two, Eric Kuo beat Buelte 6-2, 6-1, and Colin Scruggs defeated McCook 6-3, 6-4 on court three. Jake Louiselle fell short of a win after falling to Gaurav Singh 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) on court four. The Bears' Pato Garcia Muriel and Scott Yamamoto completed the singles sweep after Muriel defeated Scott Anderson 6-4, 6-2, and Yamamoto beat Grayson Zylstra 6-2, 6-1.

In its afternoon matchup, the Tigers jumped to an early 2-1 following doubles play. Teagan Crow and Samuele defeated the Pioneers Jared Wells and Chase Moreman 8-1 on court three. On court two, Hudson Mosher and Wils Warren beat Jordan Cordrey and Jacob Jirankek 8-3. Transylvania cut DePauw's lead in half when Chris Kaufmann and Arjun Gupta defeated Ryan McCook and Finley Buelte 8-5 on court one.
The Tigers regained their footing in singles play and won four of the six singles matches. Grayson Zylstra defeated the Pioneer's Jordan Cordrey 6-1, 6-0 on court six, while Scott Anderson beat Chase Moreman 6-2, 6-1 on court five. On court four, Jake Louiselle tallied another win for DePauw after defeating Jacob Jirankek 6-2, 6-1. The Tigers' final afternoon victory came on court three when Ryan McCook defeated Alejandro Canedo 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4). Transylvania secured its two other afternoon victories on courts one and two. On court one, the Pioneers' Chris Kaufmann defeated Samuele Pia 6-4, 0-6, 6-3, and on court two, Arjun Gupta beat Finley Buelte.
